What is most important in preparing for a position on a SWAT Team?

1) The term preparing, this is very important for future things that will deal with my topic. I am researching less on the specific weapons and objects in the career, and more into the pyshcological and mental components of SWAT.

2) Based on my research I've learned that quick thinking and a disciplined mind create the best SWAT officers.

3) My most important printed source would have to be the book On Combat by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman. The book goes over many different pyshcological and pyshiological affects that combat has on both soldiers and officers. This book has helped me to better understand the confusing yet greatly interesting world of deadly confrontations.
